About Me
Work:
I am a church planting junkie. I live and breathe it and don’t plan to ever do anything else but be involved in church planting. I developed this passion under the tutelage of Dr. Tom Jones at Emmanuel School of Religion. In 2004, I moved to Charlotte NC to help plant LifePointe Christian Church. Currently, I work as a project manager with Passion 4 Planting where I oversee the start of about ten churches a year. I essentially function as the executive pastor in a part time role for the churches I work with. I help the lead pastor develop a strategic plan around the vision and carry as much of the administrative burden as possible to enable the lead pastor to connnect with people. I also serve on the board of the Central Illinois Evangelizing Association. When, I have time I like to help assess with the Church Planting Assessment Center.
Personal:
I’m married to Amanda Foltz. She is an incredible help to me in my ministry and my best friend. We have two kids. Will is three. Kate is one. During the off hours the kids keep busy. One of my favorite Will moments was when we went to an established church and he asked, “Dad what is this place.” I replied, “Will, this is church.” He said, “Dad, this is not a church.” He’d also been in mobile church settings and didn’t know what to think of a church that had a building.
Hobbies:
I love my macs and would call myself a fanboy. I plan to blog about it from time to time. I enjoy politics. To me its more entertaining than most sitcoms. I’m a huge Fighting Illini fan and love following my friend Michael McDowell in Nascar.
